Up first against the Corsair is the XT5, from Lincoln’s longtime rival Cadillac. Right from the start, we can see that the Corsair comes with a noticeable price advantage. This becomes even more pronounced when you see that the extra money you spend on the Cadillac doesn’t really get you much. It certainly doesn’t get you more power, even though both vehicles come with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The one in the Corsair produces more horsepower and torque. On top of that, the Corsair also gets better fuel economy. This is true of the base model, but for those who want even better fuel economy, there is a plug-in hybrid version of the Corsair. Conversely, there is no electrified drivetrain of any kind for the XT5.
The Lincoln Corsair gives you superior legroom as well as a towing capacity that’s double that of the XT5. You get more speakers in the Corsair and controlling them is a lot easier thanks to a much, much larger infotainment touchscreen. Safety features like front seat lumbar support and a rear cross-traffic assist are standard on the Corsair, while Cadillac makes you move up to a higher trim before they’re even available as options. That’s even more money on top of the several thousand extra you would already have to pay for the Cadillac XT5.

Next up, we’ll take a closer look at how the Lincoln Corsair measures up to the Audi Q5. To get things started, you can’t ignore the sizable price advantage you’ll enjoy by choosing the Corsair over the Q5. A more responsive 8-speed automatic transmission and larger 19-inch alloy wheels give the Corsair a more rewarding experience behind the wheel. Once you step inside the cabin, the advantages for Lincoln are quite staggering.
A larger digital instrument cluster and standard over-the-air software updates ensure you’ll always have the latest and greatest in terms of infotainment. You also can’t beat the convenience of its standard keyfob-activated remote start system and a total of 6 USB charging ports found throughout the interior of the Corsair. Examples of first-class interior appointments also included as standard inside the Lincoln are ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel – two features that will cost you extra on the already more expensive Audi Q5. Superior front and rear legroom and far more robust powertrain warranty coverage are two other advantages that come from choosing the Lincoln Corsair.

For our last comparison, we’re looking at the compact version of the Range Rover, the Evoque. This one does come with standard AWD, but even when compared to the AWD-equipped Lincoln Corsair, it’s still much more expensive. Once again, you aren’t getting any more power with that money, and neither are you getting better fuel economy. The Corsair once again offers more front legroom, and we’ve included the figures for the rear too, since the Evoque has such an unusually cramped back seat. You get more cargo space in the back of the Corsair, quite a bit more. But in spite of the Evoque’s cramped interior, it still can’t match the Corsair’s turning diameter. The Corsair once again shows off a bigger infotainment touchscreen, which gives it some real bragging rights in this segment. While the sole drivetrain option of the Range Rover Evoque is a hybrid, it’s a mild hybrid system that isn’t even capable of outperforming the non-hybrid version of the Lincoln Corsair.
Winner - Lincoln Corsair
You have a ton of options when it comes to luxury compact SUVs. Yet none of them manage to offer quite what you get with a Lincoln Corsair. Thanks to class-leading power, fuel economy, and technology, the Corsair has something for everyone. We think you’ll like it too, so stop by Joe Rizza Lincoln to experience it in person.
