2025 Lincoln Towing Capacity Guide

Lincoln Towing Guide - Joe Rizza Lincoln

Luxury interiors, superior driving dynamics, and sophisticated styling might be the most popular qualities that attract people to the Lincoln brand, but Lincoln builds vehicles that excel across a whole range of areas. One of these areas is towing, where Lincoln SUVs stand out to a surprising degree. Lincoln exceeds towing capacity expectations by enough that we figured it would be helpful to have a towing guide to show what the Lincoln lineup is capable of.

2025 Lincoln Navigator Towing Capacity

Lincoln Navigator Towing

Large SUVs are good for towing, but the Lincoln Navigator is exceptional. Tough body-on-frame construction helps to isolate the cabin and keep it quiet and composed, but it also has the benefit of giving the Navigator an outstanding towing capacity. Adding to this is an incredibly advanced twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces noticeably more power than the V8 power plants in competing models. The Navigator is available in extended form as well, giving you more rear cargo space. This does come with a slight potential tradeoff in towing capacity, but it’s small enough that it would still be worth it for many people, depending on how you want to use your Navigator.

Horsepower Torque Towing Capacity Towing capacity (with 24-inch wheels)
Navigator 440 510 lb-ft 8,700 pounds 8,500 pounds
Navigator L 440 510 lb-ft 8,700 pounds 8,400 pounds

2025 Lincoln Aviator Towing Capacity

Lincoln Aviator

The Aviator might be a midsize model, but it seats up to seven and has a huge cargo capacity. It also has an exceptionally powerful engine. The standard 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine gives the Aviator a lot more pep than its competitors, and this is always good news for a vehicle that you want to use for towing. The combination of a comfortable interior and effortless power makes the Aviator an obvious choice for long towing road trips.

2025 Lincoln Nautilus Towing Capacity

Lincoln Nautilus

The Lincoln Nautilus comes with a high-tech showpiece of a cabin, with a dash-spanning digital display, and an available premium stereo that is truly unlike anything you’ll find in a competing vehicle. This advanced technology extends to the drivetrain options, where there is an available hybrid drivetrain that saves you gas without any compromise in towing capacity. And just like the rest of the Lincoln lineup, there is ample power on tap, and whether you’re towing or just commuting, that’s always a big plus.

Drivetrain Horsepower Torque Towing Capacity
Turbocharged 2.0L I-4 250 280 lb-ft 1,750 pounds
Turbocharged 2.0L I-4 with Hybrid 310 295 lb-ft 1,750 pounds

2025 Lincoln Corsair Towing Capacity

Lincoln Corsair

The Lincoln Corsair might be the smallest Lincoln model, but it’s big on luxury, and big on towing capacity as well. The Corsair is also the only Lincoln model to offer a plug-in hybrid drivetrain as an option, which boasts a seriously impressive 76 MPGe combined rating. Not only that, but the plug-in hybrid drivetrain gets the same towing capacity as the gasoline option, and a bit more horsepower to boot. The Corsair isn’t just a standout in its segment for comfort and driving dynamics, but also for a towing capacity that’s unusually high.

Drivetrain Horsepower Torque Towing Capacity (FWD) Towing Capacity (AWD)
2.0L Turbocharged I-4 250 275 lb-ft 2,000 pounds 3,000 pounds
2.5L Atkinson-Cycle I-4 Plug-In-Hybrid 266 TBA N/A 3,000 pounds

Lincoln Towing Equipment

Lincoln Navigator

Any vehicle that is going to be used for towing will need to have the proper equipment installed first. The first thing you’ll need is a trailer hitch receiver. Most Lincoln vehicles are available with this as a factory option, with the sole exception of the Nautilus, but not to fear, a trailer hitch receiver is still available for the Nautilus as a piece of dealer-installed equipment. There are also Towing Packages available for most Lincoln models, with more extensive packages offered for the vehicles with higher towing capacities. But even the smallest Lincoln model still has a Towing Package that includes Trailer Sway Control. Bigger models include things like Smart Trailer Tow, and a Blind Spot Information System that can adapt to include the trailer. The equipment and driver assist tech features offered by Lincoln to help with towing make it even more of a standout as a practical tow vehicle.
